Day 12. Beta-reading, shopping, site editing and writing.

Did some intensive reading today - Brona sent me her new novel to beta-read. It's - wait for it - a novel about an AI based on Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice! Fantastic fun. I read it in great, indulgent sweeps of time, broken only by some equally indulgent shopping in the many charity shops and discount stories of Limerick.
Below you can see my trusty Kindle Fire (on which I read Brona's PDF), the fruits of which included the bag, scarf and pencil-case (aka new insulin case) you see below, as well as a pair of FABULOUS trainers (silver and black leopardskin with fuschia pink trim).

lso (today was a real day to catch up on needed things like chemist runs) I started the labrorious process of designing a new Gothicise website. I'm a Wix woman now, the old Weebly site is just too clunky to maintain.

I did a little writing too, pushed out a little more of TWTWH, but really, today was about celebrating my friend Brona's terrific achievement. Her third solo novel (and fifth novel, counting her two co-written ones).
You know, I'm proud of us both for realising our writing goals (her - commercial fiction leading to a career as a romantic novelist, me - a succession of short stories published with other slipstream, alt:horror authors, an adjunct to my research career.)
