Happy
& Creative
Over the last two years, I've become increasingly interested in ideas of creativity and happiness. The first book on the subject I read was Martine Brennan's Happiness: It's Just A Habit which advocated 31 happiness exercises to do - the idea being that these would add up to a sustainable habit of being content. A lot of these focused on asking what made you happy - for me the answer was resoundingly - being creative!

The Flourish Handbook
The next influential book I picked up was The Flourish Handbook by Cheryl Rickman. I'd first come across it in Psychologies magazine - their January 2014 special on flourishing. It's a fantastic impetus to action - about moving from passivity to creativity and onwards to success. Now I own it in both physical and digital formats - it's such a refreshing and positive read.
The Happiness Project
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin is of the most interesting books on the subject I've read, Rubin's book takes both a theoretical and practice-based research approach to analysing happiness. Her musings on her readings, and her thoughful and often amusing reflections on her thought experiments make for lively reading.
